Grade or Provide Feedback on Writing Lessons - Quick Score
ThinkCERCA provides two mechanisms for grading Writing Lessons: Rubric Score and Quick Score.
Differences Between Quick Score and Rubric Score
Use the Quick Score to quickly and easily give students feedback on their writing. You may provide feedback and assign a personal growth focus to help students determine where they should concentrate their efforts on their next assignments. You can score assignments on a 4-point or 5-point scale with Quick Score.
Use the Rubric Score to provide consistent, standards-aligned feedback. In addition to providing input on your students' writing overall, you may include additional, specific comments on each component of the rubric. As in the Quick Score method, you may also assign each student a personal growth focus.
Hello Partners, follow these steps to grade and provide feedback on writing using Quick Score.
- Navigate to the Classes page.
- Select the blue “Needs Feedback” icon from the progress bar on a class tile or select “View Class Planner” and select the icon from your assignment list.
- Select the “Give Feedback” option from the “Writing” column. Scoring can also be completed on the “In Revision” status.
- Select the "Quick Score" to see students' written responses.
- Select the “4 point Scale” or “5 point Scale” to grade the assignment. This will set the default rubric for the other submissions on this assignment. Select “Continue.”
- Expand the scoring window by selecting the carrot to the left of “Quick Score.”
- Select the score tile, provide students with overall feedback for their work and select a Growth Focus for the student from the dropdown.
- Click "Submit with Score."
- Teachers can also “Submit without Score” for any students who did not complete or completed outside of the platform. This will remove the assignment from the students “Current Assignments” list.
