Hello Partners, follow these steps to preview a Close Reading & Writing Lesson before assigning it. Close Reading & Writing Lessons can be found inside of Core ELAR (if purchased) or inside the Writing Across the Curriculum tab in the Library.
- Select a Close Reading & Writing Module from the Lesson Spotlight or one of the Theme Collections.
- Toggle through the different versions of the lesson for each grade level until you find the appropriate grade. (Notice how the Writing Prompts and Texts will change with the grade level but the Class Discussion Question does not.)
- Select the “Preview” button on the left to preview the content, questions, and steps students will see when completing the lesson.
- Close the preview tab and select “Lesson Supports” under the lesson title.
- Find pre-made, editable lesson plan decks and Pear Decks for students in the provided Lesson Supports.
- Go back to the “Lesson Detail” tab and scroll down to view suggested Direct Instruction & Skills Lessons as well as additional Reading Practice that may support this Close Reading & Writing Lesson.
