Find & Assign Skills Lessons

Hello Partners, Skills Practice Lessons are interactive lessons that provide grade-level instruction and practice in critical literacy skills. These lessons give students the opportunity to engage with and receive immediate feedback on a variety of question types. Each lesson concludes with a five-question, standards-based multiple choice quiz to check for understanding on the skill. 

Choose one of these three options to find, preview, and assign a Skills Lesson. 

Option 1: 

1. Navigate to the “Browse” tab inside the Library. 
2. In the “Type” filter, select “Skills Practice.”
3. Input any other filters or keywords for your search and select “Search.”
4. Select a lesson to preview and/or assign.

Option 2:

1. Navigate to the “Skills Lessons” tab inside the Library.
2. Scroll through the list preview of the most commonly used lessons in a Strand or select “View All” to see all available Direct Instruction or Skills lessons for that Strand.
3. Skills lessons will always be denoted by the building blocks icon. Select a lesson to preview and/or assign.

Option 3:

1. In the “Writing Across the Curriculum” Library tab, all writing modules include suggested pairings for Direct Instruction, Skills, and Reading Practice lessons. Select a module to view.
2. Scroll down on the page to see suggested lessons to utilize with the module.
