Find & Assign Reading Practice Lessons

Hello Partners, Reading Practice lessons contain high-interest, authentic texts — featuring videos, graphs, charts, and other visual sources — that build students’ discipline-specific background knowledge. At the end of each lesson, students answer five multiple-choice questions to gauge comprehension. An Item Analysis of the lesson will be available by clicking the graph icon that appears on the assignment bar after at least one student submits. 

Choose one of these three options to find, preview, and assign a Reading Practice Lesson. 

Option 1: 

1. Navigate to the “Browse” tab inside the Library. 
2. In the “Type” filter, select “Reading Practice.”
3. Input any other filters or keywords for your search and select “Search.”
4. Select a lesson to preview and/or assign.

Option 2:

1. Navigate to the “Reading Practice” tab inside the Library.
2. Filter for subject area and/or grade-level.
3. Reading Practice lessons will always be denoted by the reader icon. Select a lesson to preview and/or assign.

Option 3:

1. In the “Writing Across the Curriculum” Library tab, all writing modules include suggested pairings for Direct Instruction, Skills, and Reading Practice lessons. Select a module to view.
2. Scroll down on the page to see suggested lessons to utilize with the module.
